Production DevOps

As a member of the Professional Services team, the Production DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring SparkCognition’s build and deployment pipelines and is expected to assist in managing the organization's production local and wide area networks and servers.


  • Collaborate with the engineering team to improve the continuous delivery pipeline
  • Deploy tools for collecting, aggregating and alerting on server/application metrics; use data collected to inform decision-making on performance and scalability
  • Evaluate technology, build, test, document and deliver highly available services to support core infrastructure
  • Be part of an on-call rotation that monitors/maintains availability of our application
  • Interface with business development, customer success, and directly with clients to manage data between organizations.
  • Drive performance improvement by identifying, quantifying, developing, and assisting in developing solutions across all products
  • Administer and optimize development, QA, staging, and production environments.
  • Perform the unit testing, system integration testing and assist with user acceptance testing
  • Assist in development of project plans and task lists for staging and production deployments
  • Design and develop procedures to automate various systems and tasks (i.e. automating code builds and deployments, systems upgrade and maintenance, alerting and monitoring)
  • Research and promotion of new DevOps tools to simplify processes and identify opportunities for improving existing processes or implementing new process automation.
  • Assist Security team in reviewing system security to prevent, detect and respond to internal and external security threats on production servers


  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration skills
  • Written production code in a language other than BASH (we like Python)
  • Proficiency in a configuration management tool such as Ansible, Saltstack, Chef
  • Experience deploying a variety of web applications
  • Experience working with AWS, Google Compute Cloud and Docker is a plus
  • Knowledge of git and branching models like git-flow
  • Takes ownership of tools released to the team
